The practicum program at Newlands Church is built to give you hands-on opportunity with the staff, learn the behind the scenes of ministry and leadership, and gain a greater understand of your gifts as you serve alongside some of the best leaders around. The practicum leaders believe in you and are invested in seeing you grow as a servant leader in whatever you pursue!
Pastoral Leadership

Experience an opportunity to learn from many ministries in Newlands Church! You will receive a broader perspective of ministry, have the opportunity to develop and pastor people, and make an impact globally and locally in a massive way.
Youth Ministry
Be a part of leading and investing in countless lives of students through weekly services/groups, outreach events, winter camp, and more. You will have an opportunity to plan services/big events, lead groups, and oversee our adult and youth student leaders. Develop as a pastor, leader, and communicator on the platform and off it, through practical ministry skills.
Kid’s Ministry
Lead kids to have fun and know God! You will work alongside our Newlands Kid’s Team by assisting in teaching lessons, planning curriculum, helping facilitate the Youth Build Team, coordinating volunteers, and planning services/events.
Worship and Tech Arts
Do you have a heart for worship? Our Worship and Tech Arts departments regularly lead us into worship moments through songs and an immersive worship experience. You will have the opportunity to learn the culture of Newlands worship and how we seek to honor God through our ministry
Communications and Marketing
Learn what it means to communicate the heart of Newlands Church to our members, attendees, and the Greater Houston community. You will have the opportunity to work with social media, email, SMS, web, print, and multiple other mediums to support and elevate the frontline ministries of Newlands.
Creative and Media
Be part of creating the look and feel of Newlands Church. In the Creative and Media department, you will learn to express the message of Newlands through graphics, photography, videography, animation, and more. The department supports multiple ministries of Newlands Church including our Sunday services.
